EXOSILENT
EXHAUST WATER SEPARATOR

The HFL Exhaust Water Separator, EXOSILENT, is manufactured for either a 40mm or a 50mm diameter wet exhaust system. The purpose is to separate the exhaust emmissions into dry exhaust and water. The exhaust separation will then allow a discharge of the dry exhaust above the water line and the seawater discharge either above or below the water line.

The EXOSILENT therefore overcomes the usual annoyance of wet exhaust borne noise relating to conventional systems. The EXOSILENT can be fitted to almost any craft providing certain criteria can be met. The gate valve "E" must be installed to allow setting of the correct seawater discharge rate. It is also important to remember that there is a limit to the depth below the water line "C" at which the seawater can be discharged. Furthermore note that there is a minimum height "D" required to make the separator work at all.

The EXOSILENT is a further step as far as reducing marine pollution is concerned, as well as both noise and exhaust. If the above installation criteria cannot be met however, a conventional exhaust system should be used, for which HFL offer various alternatives (details on request).

Exosilent Installation Paramenters

A - Dry exhaust outlet above s/l; Length 1.5 - 2m approx.
B - Seawater discharge above or below s/l possible
C - Max depth below s/l 100mm; 4"
D - Min height above s/l 0.5m; max. height 2m
E - Regulating gate valve compulsory, 1".
